donkey is reportedly saying that he may vote for john kerry in the upcoming election!!!!!!!!! john kerry so intentionally tries to play off of the ignorance of the american citizens, it's totally disgusting! Two great qoutes from the 3rd debate: "This country is the most divided it's ever been. As president, I will seek to unify and build strong alliances...." Hey John, EVER HEARD OF THE CIVIL WAR?! Somehow, I think we were SLIGHTLY more divided then. A translation of your last statement is that you will firmly plant your lips upon the buttocks of any foriegn country that has a problem with our policies. "I will seek to build alliances, just like F.D.R., just like John Kennedy, just like Ronald Reagan, ....." Well, that was a nice ploy. Compare yourself to the three most nationally popular presidents of the 20th century, and attempt to make it appear that the 3 had anything in common, which they didn't. FDR, a builder of alliances? Maybe with communist Russia. We were isolationists until attacked under FDR. FDR did help create several useless social programs that managed to waste a lot of taxpayer money, in his defense. Kennedy really didn't do much either in terms of building great alliances. But after abandoning the anti-communist forces in the Bay of Pigs disaster (for political reasons of course), he did manage to create the Cuban Missle crises. He also got shot. RONALD REAGAN?! Mr. Kerry, do you know who Ronald Reagan actually was? His aggressive defensive build-up made him one of the most internationally unpopular presidents in history!!! In fact, the only people that seemed to really like Reagan would be his voters, which delivered landslide victories to him twice. Every facet of the american and international media called Reagan arrogant, stupid, a warmonger, a demagogue, senile, and a whole host of other insults. THIS MAN DID NOT BUILD ALLIANCES WITH ANYONE! He was awesome indeed, but (much like George W.) he was despised by the media and the international community because he was extremely conservative. And his stubborness ended the cold war, effectively demonstrating to everyone how important it is to have a leader who is not a coward. so, my point is that Kerry is a deciever, and that a vote for him is foolish. Kevin, I will be extremely dissappointed if you vote for him. Look beyond the hype and the propoganda (for both candidates) which is everywhere. Go look at their records, look at the unbiased facts, and by all means, IGNORE THE MAINSTREAM MEDIA. Bias is everywhere, it's repulsive. If you study what each candidate is actually offering in concrete terms, and look at their record on several issues, the decision of who to vote for isn't hard. Bush really isn't a very good candidate, but Kerry is by FAR the greater of the two evils!

Eat Kerry's FAAAAAAAAAAAAACE! That is, if you (Donkey, or anyone else for that matter) vote for Kerry, the members of this Board and I will have to thoroughly examine the possibility that, as Peggy Gibbs once said, the buttcracker is, in fact, a rather painful wrestling move.
(Kerry actually said Ronald Reagan built alliances? With whom? )

(Kerry actually said Ronald Reagan built alliances? With whom? ) Yes, towards the beginning of the debate, if I remember correctly. I was so furious I had to leave the room. The statement was so ridiculous I couldn't believe he actually said it. How stupid does he think people are? Then again, with the death of Reagan came all this admiration from a suddenly sympathetic press. Never mind the fact that these same news outlets (ABC, CBS, NBS, The New York Times, NPR, Time Magazine, etc.) thought this man was an idiot back when he was actually president. The fact that they finally realized that they were horribly wrong about the Cold War, (OH MY GOSH WE ARE ALL GOING TO BE ANNIHILATED! REAGAN ARE SUX! : and they realized that he was still extremely popular 20 years later, made them suddenly act like they actually got along with Reagan. They hated Reagan, and he knew it, so he often toyed with them and threw the press sarcasm during speeches and press conferences. My favorite example being from a 1986 speech (I forget where it was....the press was supposedly enraged by this comment): The liberals hacks of the day ran articles trying to rip him apart for "not realizing the serious implications" of what he said. The man could cooridinate one of the most complex and effective arms-trade deals in history (which was supposedly a "scandal"), but he didn't know what would happen if we nuked the Soviets. Freaking buttcrackers. If for nothing else, I want to see Bush win just to make these lying idiots angry. If Cheney wins 2008, it will be the icing on the cake. And they wonder why FoxNews's ratings are through the roof....

I love that Reagan quote...lol... Man, I think most of the people here (Donkey excluded, apparently) would go BERSERK in my Criminal Justice class...not only is the teacher a demon-possessed liberal, but our textbook is officially supplemented by CNN! And now, part of a...fascinating...Slate article
Inherit the Wind? You mean that movie barely even based on the Scopes trial, that changes the outcome and proceedings entirely?! Yeah, I saw it. I also saw the transcripts of the actual trial, which are COMPLETELY different from the Spencer Tracy film.

But I forgive Slate, because they published this cartoon: But then again, I don't, because they also published this one, which I, being a phone interview conducting said polls, know to be inaccurate (BTW, official likely voter stats are currently Bush 54%, Kerry 46%) On the other hand, they did publish THESE, too:

OK, I post this not because I agree with it...I'll get to it, just a second: OK, first, I would think that if you're going to try sounding official, you would at least spell my company's name correctly: (vs. Gallup) Second, note who the "sources" they use there are: LOL! Certainly, these are the most neutral and unbiased newgroups we could find! What's that you say? "Nauseatingly LIBERAL"? I don't believe you... I've worked on CNN surveys...they give us (Gallup) a list of numbers that they want us to call. Hmm. Perhaps there's a little bit of room there for faulty respondent pooling...meanwhile, our RDD (Random Digital Dial) surveys show completely different results. Finally...842 deaths. Now, granted, that's about Peru right there. But in World War I, you had things like a British attack on a German strongpoint (can't remember the name): 54,000+ British dead in one afternoon. Then there's all the carpet bombing of the Second World War, and such American catastrophes as Anzio, the Hedgerows/Normandie bocage, Omaha Beach (1 American dead for every three feet of ground taken), Arnhem, Nijmegen, Son, etc. Did we have any mass anti-war rallies for that? Any Muhammad Ali's? ("Can't fight for religious reasons..." You're Muslim, dude; if anything, you SHOULD be fighting due to religious reasons) Any Fondas? Any Michael Moores? Nope. And they would have had more reason to do things like that back then, since we were joining European wars that ultimately had nothing to do with us, whereas an attack on any Muslim country can logically be classified as a pre-emptive strike, knowing Islam's hatred of Christians, Jews, and the people they think back them (Americans). Oh well. I'm tired. I've got to go to class.

Hey, I got this Samurai Warriors game made by the dudes who did Dynasty Warriors and Kessen...I suck at it, but it's fun. It's big, too; there are supposed to be 90 stages and over 500 mission variation events! So anyway. Carry on (Kerry on?). I'm glad that the election has FINALLY happened; no more election polls for meee!!!
